It's that time again boys and girls. Buffy the Vampire Slayer reviews have returned! And as an added bonus, I'm trying to start the Sunnydale Live Podcast back up as well! So that is exciting!!! Today on Buffy we are talking about the season 2 episode Lie to Me. It's a personally favorite for the simple fact that it brings in Max Evens. Who is Max Evens you ask? Oh and it was written and directed by Joss Whedon, always a plus!!
One of the main characters from the show Roswell of course! That's another great show that you should all check out if you haven't already. It is worth your time! Only wish it lasted more than 3 seasons!! But, alas, we are not here to talk about Roswell. We are here to talk about the episode Lie to Me, Buffy remember people? She's the Slayer! There she is! Ok, so this episode starts out at a park late at night, where a little boy is waiting bored for his mother to come pick him up. Why his mother leaves him alone at a park late at night is anyone's guess. I'm just going to throw out that she most likely isn't a good mother. I mean when i was that age I would play at the park by myself too but I had to be home by street lights, not waiting at a creepy park where anyone could just come and take me, or suck my blood as Dru wanted to do when she came across him. Lucky for the kid and his bad mother Angel shows up and stops her. We start to see for the first time that these two know each other, we could kind of figured it out by him knowing Spike but this confirms it. In true Dru fashion her crazy side just makes us love her even more. It really is the best part about her. It's so off putting but interesting at the same time. You just can't look away. While Angel warns Dru to leave Buffy spots them talking from afar and it clearly gets to her. We feel her pain. The next day at school we spy Giles and Jenny talking. She is teasing him about their next date, of which she will tell him nothing. He tries to get it out of her but she won't budge. Buffy reports to Giles about it being dead on the slaying front and he offers her a night off to hang out with Angel, she doesn't seem thrilled with the idea. Buffy confides in Willow about Angel and the mystery girl, who Buffy doesn't yet know to be Dru, the girlfriend of Spike. Xander is excited by this! Enter Billy Ford, also known to us as Max Evens! Turns out that Buffy and him are old friends and she had a big crush on him back in the day! Ford comes out to the Bronze and starts to hit it off with the Scoobies when Angel shows up. He lies to Buffy about what he was doing the night before and Buffy blows him off to hang out with Ford. Angel is even more jealous than Xander was. Ford starts asking her about Angel and she tries to avoid the answer. While they are walking Buffy hears an attack and sends Ford on a wild goose chase while she goes to fight. Ford only goes a few feet before turning back and going to see what Buffy was doing. He comes just as the Buffy dusts the vamp. He asks her what is happening and she makes up some lie about cats fighting when Ford tells her he knows she is the vampire slayer. As Buffy tells Willow the good news we jump over to see Ford enter a weird building, a building where they are welding on a steel door and everyone is dressed up like Vampires from old movies. A guy in a blue cape named Marvin but going by Diego starts asking when everything will happen, Ford tells him he just needs a few more days. Then they will all die young and stay pretty. Pretty sure they want to be vampires. And who else do we meet here? None other than Chanterelle, wait I mean Lilly, or is it Anne? It's the name changing girl! I really like her character, for a bit character that is only in a handful of episodes she sure grows a lot! Angel shows up at Willow's house and after she invites him in he asks her to help him find out information about Billy Ford. Willow points out he is jealous and Angel admits it. He loves her and is jealous but his gut still tells him that Ford is a bad guy. Willow soon finds out that Ford isn't in the school records. She tells Angel to come back the next night and she will tell him what she finds. He asks her to lie to Buffy, she doesn't want to but agrees. She is a really bad lair and Buffy calls her out on it but Willow just runs off. Giles gives Buffy Jenny's pager number in case he needs her and Buffy tells him that Ford knows. He is worried she told him but she assures him that Ford found out on his own back in LA. While hanging out Buffy and Ford spot a few vampires running around. She gives Ford a stake and they go off in search. Buffy gets knocked down and Ford spares a vampire in exchange for information, than lies to Buffy about it. Xander, Willow and Dead boy, Xander's new nickname for Angel, head to the night club that Ford hangs out. Right away they feel out of place but they look around anyways, it doesn't take them long to see the pro-vampire atmosphere of the room. Chanterelle tells them that they love the lonely ones, aka vampires. Angel insults her and she runs off. Keep in mind, they met, just right now! Angel has a photographic memory and she met Angel on one of the worst days of her life. Why don't they remember each other when they meet again? I don't know, that's something for another day. Buffy brings Giles and Jenny up to speed, turns out the mystery date was a monster truck show. Not really a Giles type date. Buffy shes a picture of Dru and learns that she is a vampire and lover to Spike, that brings up questions in her mind about Angel. Moments later the vampire Ford lied about killing knocks them over as she runs out with a stolen book. Damn, in two minutes Buffy learns that two guys she likes is lying to her about vampires. Poor girl. Spike confronts Dru about her talking to Angel. He is clearly jealous of him. They start to have a tender moment when Ford enters the room. Spike starts talking about eating him. Ford says he has something to offer him but Spike doesn't seem to care. It's a game to Ford and Spike could care less but pays along because Dru asks him to. He asks Spike to make him a vampire but Spike says no. This is when Ford offers to give him the slayer in exchange for making him a vampire. What an asshole! Angel shows up at Buffy's house and asks to talk, he wants to talk about Ford, he admits that he has been working with Willow and Xander to find out about Ford, Buffy isn't happy about it and demands to know about Dru. He tells her the truth is hard to hear and asks if she loves him. She says yes but she doesn't know if she trust him. He starts to tell her that Dru was the worst thing he has ever done. She was sweet and innocent and he drove her insane and mentally tortured her until she fled to become a nun. On the day she was to become one he turned her into a vampire. Buffy seems sickened by it, Angel then tells her about Ford. The next day at school Ford asks Buffy out and she says yes. He has a surprise for her and she says she likes surprises. Things are getting intense. Willow and Xander try to talk to Buffy but she is kind of short with them, not rude but not friendly. Rightfully so she is a bit annoyed. Diego and Chanterelle ask Ford if everything is ready. He tells them everything will be fine and that is when he finds out that Angel and co showed up there. Ford is worried but before he could think Buffy shows up early. It doesn't take long for Buffy to figure out that Ford offered her up as a trade to become a vampire. He starts laughing as Diego locks the door. He tells her the trap has already been set. Buffy is worried about everyone there but they don't see what her problem is. They want to be vampires and refuse to listen to her. The sun sets and any hope of escape is gone. Spike and Dru get their men ready to head off to collect the slayer. Ford admits to Buffy that the rest of them will die, he is the only one who will be changed. She tells him that when he becomes a vampire it won't be him anymore. He says it's better than nothing. He only has 6 months left before he dies. He has tumors that are killing him. She feels bad for him but stands by that it doesn't justify what he is doing. He tells her he has no idea what it feels like to be him. He has no choice. She points out he has a choice, it is a shitty choice but still a choice. She threatens to kill him herself and he tells her that he really did miss her just as Spike and co pull up. Ford knocks her down the stairs as Spike and his men enter the room. Spike starts to feed on Chanterelle as Buffy fights Ford. She forgets all about him when she spots Dru. She jumps up there and puts a stake to Dru's heart. She tells Spike to let everyone go or she will kill Dru. Spike listens. Chanterelle and the others flee. Buffy throws Dru down the stairs and takes off, closing the door behind her, locking spike and the others behind. Buffy tells them they can come back later for the body. Turns out that Ford is the only one left in there with the vampires. He points out to Spike that he held up his end and still wants his reward. Buffy retrieves the body and visits the grave the next day with Giles. She tells Giles that she wants to hate him but can't bring herself to. Life is too complicated, Giles points out that is what growing up is all about. Ford comes back as a vampire and Buffy slays him, not even interrupting their conversation. Buffy asks Giles to lie to her about life and he tells her things are simple and life gets better. It is a great episode written by the man himself, but don't take my word for it. Go watch it!

I'm back! It's been a long time since I've been active with Blueroof Productions, due to lack of Wifi. Me and Ashley have still been doing Clean Jeans, I know that pod has been silent for a while but it is back and we will start being weekly again. I was moving and it caused a delay. Uncanny Fans has a new episode that should be coming out this week as well and it will be back on track as well. I know, I know I should have been on everything but this summer has been hell. Blueroof Productions has gone through some shake ups but we are still here and better than ever, at least we will be soon!

I hope you guys join me for the ride and I look forward to Blueroof Productions V4. Welcome to another episode of Sliders, as always out of order! Damn you Fox. This episode was written by Tracy Torme. The episode starts up as a storm is going on and our heroes are trying to make their way out of the woods. Fighting against the rain and the wind. The professor opens the vortex and one by one they jump in. Quinn going last, just as a bolt of lightening strikes it. The others come out on the other side with no Quinn. It's a bit weird that it takes them so long to notice Quinn isn't with them.
Quinn shows up and tries to call out to them, none of them seem to hear him. Wade even walks right through him. Something is wrong, something is very wrong. Wade throws out the theory that Quinn is stuck in the last world while Artuo believes Quinn is just somewhere else in town. Wade asks how long they have to find Quinn and it is then that they discover that timer is fried. Arturo correctly figures out that a bolt of lightening must have hit the vortex. They have to fix the timer before they have to leave, made all the harder by them not knowing when they have to leave. To make matters worse they are on a word that seems to be stuck back in the fifties. They ask the a police for some help and he tries to arrest Arturo for a watch. Turns out technology is illegal on this world. Quinn uses the fact that the horse can see him to scare it, the horse runs off and the cop chases off after him. The sliders use this chance to run off. The Sliders make it to the hotel. Arturo can't help but laugh, they have to fix the timer in a world where technology is outlawed. Making everything harder. There is no word from Quinn at the hotel, which we already knew but weighs hard on the others. Remy starts to think like Wade, that Quinn might be stuck on the last world. At the church some lady sees Quinn but tries to pretend like she can't. She starts snapping at him to go away, turns out this lady use to hear voices, everyone else thinks she is crazy. Quinn talks her into helping them. The lady pushes through a crowd trying to get autographs from people. The note tells them what happened and they all run after the lady. They all see her talking to herself because none of them can see Quinn. She gives them a story to prove she is talking to them but before they can go any farther her mother, who looks like a horrible person pulls the daughter away. Wade believes the lady but Arturo doesn't. Remy takes the timer and goes to talk to the priest with it. He tells Remy of a man who plays around with technology. It turns out that after World War 2 people have decided that technology wouldn't only lead to the end of times and people decided to stop advancing. Remy and the others go to find the man. The man is a double of Quinn's father. Turns out that Quinn's double is dead. Quinn's father's Double named Micheal, agrees to let them use his equipment to fix the timer. Arturo uses tech from his watch to replace parts of the timer. Remy makes fun of Wade for kissing Quinn. Wade tries to play it off. Arturo is not anywhere near as good as Quinn. He makes a simple mistake but can't figure it out. Quinn goes to find the girl again and now she is talking to herself at her job and people are making fun of her. Poor girl. Quinn helps her prove that a rude girl who was making fun of her stole all the money so she agrees to help Quinn. Arturo starts to get worked up and wants to storm out of the house but before he gets up the stairs but the anti tech police show up. Micheal tries to get them off with a warning and they arrest him instead, leaving the sliders down below. They took the timer with them. Quinn and the girl follow him to a factory and Quinn leaves her outside with the cab while he goes to look inside. Turns out these anti-tech police steal other peoples tech and studies it so that when technology is made legal again they will become rich. Micheal is working with them to get trust and steal it. These people are planning to get what information they need from the sliders and then kill them. Quinn and the girl show up at the hotel room. He uses her to talk to the sliders. He tells them all about how Micheal wants to milk them for information and then kill them. Arturo and Remy set off an alarm to get everyone out of the factory while they sneak in. The room they need to get into is locked. Arturo smashes his way into the room. Arturo gets what he needs but they spot them leaving. Arturo and Remy show up at the hotel where the others are waiting for them. He tells them that they have to go back to Micheal's house in order to fix it. The girls mother shows up and demands that she gets back into the car. Arturo tries to stand up for her but the mother won't hear. The girl tells the mother she won't go. She wants to help them. The mother caves. The sliders break into Micheal's house and Quinn uses the girl to tell Arturo how to fix the timer. The mother gives them a hairpin and it lets Arturo fix it. With 17 seconds left they Micheal shows up and demands the timer. Arturo activates the vortex. He offers him a chance to come with them. Micheal wants to shoot Arturo but Quinn, who can now be seen in the vortex asks him to put the gun down. Micheal does it. The sliders want to go through the vortex but it isn't active on the astral plan. He is going to be stuck there. The others go on without him for they have no other choice. Arturo promises to come back for him, Remy tells him he loves him and Wade, well it is a heartbreaking goodbye, she doesn't want to go but Quinn talks her into it. She has to go or be stuck here. It breaks her heart but she does it. I believe this is the first time they state how long the vortex stays open, 60 seconds. Quinn is stuck there, he feels defeated but the vortex passes through the astral plane, he tells her to give his love to his father's double and jumps into the vortex. He arrives on the next world a few minutes after the others. It is a cheerful reunion on a nudest world. Got to love Sliders. The gang is back, this time with guests as they talk about the worsts shits they have ever had, along with Pancho's pervy mustache, Candy stores selling tar and the fallout of Movie theater lawsuits.
