Now know I have a review page but I don't like to review movies I didn't like so there won't be anything on Star Wars The Force Awakens, although I'll talk about it a bit on the next episode of The Uncanny Fans, so if you want a review check that out.
This post is about something related. I've been a life long EU fan. Give us Legends and all that good stuff. One book I've never read, I've avoided altogether is Crucible. At first I was just waiting for the paperback but by time that came out Disney had already made it clear they were no longer making any more books in this timeline. So this book became a goal. I would only read it when I've read all the other EU books. Then my mom got it for me. So I thought what the hell? I started reading it. Before I knew it I was a 130 pages in, lost in the utter joy that is Star Wars and that is when the despair set in. This book is everything I love about the EU. All the characters, the adventure. I've been finding out about what happened to all the people I love over the past year.I guess it is the feeling people have been talking about with the new movie. The weird thing is, as much as I want to finish it, I'm scared to. This is it. When I finish this book I'm done with Luke, Leia and Han. No more adventures, no more stories about Jania or Ben. This is the final chapter in the Star Wars Saga that I love so much and while I'm enjoying this book it is breaking my heart as well. I don't want it to end. I want more. I want Sword of the Jedi! So last night we recorded the new Clean Jeans Christmas pod and it was very different than anything we have done before. It went better than I could ever have hoped for and honestly I can't remember the last time I had so much fun. So much fun in fact that it is going to spin off into another podcast altogether. I can't wait till the Christmas pod drops so I can talk more about it. Stay tuned!
Sometimes it is so hard to do something, anything productive. It always seems like there are a million reasons not to do something and none to actually do them. Why is it so bloody easy to be lazy but so hard to be productive? This is the problem I've been facing this week and I have yet to find a way to overcome it. Hopefully the X-Mas Pod we record tonight will help pull me out of this funk. Because that's what it is. A funk, and a bad one at that.
So tonight a legacy that has been around longer than I've been alive comes to an end. Star Wars the Farce Awakens directed by Jar Jar Abrams comes to theaters and people will pretend that the EU never lived at all. I say to thee NO! Long Live the Real Star Wars! Long Live the EU! Give us Legends!!!!!
The Gang returns to talk about the episode "The Pack"
This semester has been hell. The fact that it is over brings me unbounded amounts of joy. You would think after everything I've gone through this semester I would be ready to relax and take a break, which is what I've been trying to do the last two days but instead of relaxing all I've been doing i stressing out about everything that I'm not doing. I can't tell if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Life is short and we only have a short amount of time to make everything we want to create in life so why waste time relaxing? Get to work!
At long last the pod you all love is back with more mindless nonsense as they talk over movies, with the volume up. Who thinks these ideas up anyway? Join as once more Lawrence picks the film we watch. This time it is the Last Dragon
So today was a good day. Diego jumped back on Uncanny Fans for the first time in a long time. We should be recording a new episode of Astonishing Flashbacks later on tonight and Esau agreed to guess star on DeVaughn's new podcast about Anime. Blueroof Productions is growing by the day.
Diego also had the idea of us turning Uncanny Fans into a talk show as well as pod. Make a video of us recording and post online. It's fun idea that is ironic because before Uncanny Fans I had a youtube talk show called Jon's Corner that only had two episodes made. Sometimes life goes full circle. |
