The hardest part of getting any project done is having to get people to help you out. That is the problem with films. I have a lot of people who always tell me they want to help out so I plan things around them, write them scripts and set everything up and then they flake out on me at the last minute. It's a pain and annoying. Even more so when it is your really good friends who do it to you. They get on your case about not finishing projects and then when they agree to help you out on projects they despair on you. Can you say Irony? I find it funny that when your friends need you they expect you to be there and help them out, but when you need them where are they? Making up reasons why they can't help you. Even when you jump through hoops to make the project fit within their requirements they just stop responding. And people wonder why you don't finish more projects, well the truth is whenever your closest friends mess you over how likely are you to keep trying and make something? If you can't trust your friends when they say they are going to help who can you trust? Just goes to show that you have to do everything yourself and deal with people talking shit about you when they

What's up Blueroof Nation. I know it has been a while since I've written on here, I'm going to try and do it more often. I have more than a few stories I want to share with you all about this summer. But today I want to tell you about, well about today. It was a crazy, insane filled day.
I had my second day of Field class and it was starting off good. The only problem I've had with the class so far was a fellow student named Richie. Last semester when we took Studio together he would start problems with half the class, myself included. On Tuesday he started attacking my friend in class so I jumped to her aid. Today when he came late he was placed in my group and told the teacher he couldn't work with me. That I keep him from being brilliant. He than called me and two black girls racist and told the teacher that we hate black people because we didn't make his short last semester. At the end of the day he was kicked out of class. A great victory! The class wasn't over yet. Our groups had to go out and film a short scene to show that we know what we are doing with a camera. My group put me in charge, I came up with a different idea. I wanted to interview a dead mouse we found. I figured it would be a funny little skit to show that we were different from the rest of the class. My partners liked the idea until we were all set up and then wanted to change it because they wouldn't be able to use it for their demo reels. I'm sorry but sometimes it is ok to just have fun. I don't understand people sometimes. Now class got out late so I missed my ride and had to walk an hour and a half to get the car in the heat. It was hell!!!! but I was in my first film fest. True it wasn't my film, but I was an actor and crew chief on the film so I had to go! I start to head towards the theater and spilled soda all over my shirt and had to go home and change. This made me run late, so I was in a bit of a hurry. I have a new metro phone and the GPS failed on me so I was driving blind. It came back on and so I followed it. I started to think that I was driving a bit long but I followed the GPS faithfully. I ended up thirty minutes away at a second Texas Theater. I had to then speed back to the correct one and ended up there forty minutes late. I paid the fee to get in, walked in half way through the short I'm in. After it was finished there was one last short, one that I had already seen. It was a stressful day, at least we came in third, be it only out of six. |
